"Hunger Games" the movie will premier this weekend. As some of you may know there is a waiting list in practically all libraries in El Paso for the Hunger games trilogy.

If you like the "Hunger Games" trilogy you may like to read other similar books about dystopian societies.

WELCOME

Meet your librarian, Mrs. Livermore

My name is Laura Livermore and I am the librarian for Dr. Hornedo M. S. I have been teaching for nineteen years; seventeen of them @ E.P.I.S.D. I have two bachelor's degrees: one Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood , and a second Bachelor's in Elementary Mathematics. I hold two Master's degrees as well . My first Master's degree is an Instructional Specialist from University of Texas at El Paso, and my second Master's degree is a Master's of Science in Library Sciences from the University of North Texas.

about me

On April of 2007 I had the pleasure of talking to some of my student's favorite authors. I met Stephenie Meyer the author of the "Twilight" saga, Darren Shan the author of the "Cirque Du Freak" & "Demonata" series, and Scott Westerfeld the author of the "Uglies," "Peeps" & "Midnighters" series. It was an amazing experience!

Hornedo Library Wish list

As you know, our school does not receive any Title 1 moneys; thus the library budget is very limited.

Hornedo students are expected to do research for their classes. With a population of over 1100 students and only 15 computers in the library, we are in need of five PC computers for the library.

Microsoft office for student computers. We need 20 licenses. Students use Open Office because the library does not have Microsoft office nor the funds to purchase.

The library does not have a projection screen.

Book donations, especially of popular titles young adults love to read.

Students have no way of making copies. A copier for student use would be a great addition to the library.

There are three informative presentations. The titles are self-explanatory. If you have any questions e-mail me. Contact information is below.
